Mike Longman
Mike was formerly an equity partner and Head of Tax in the Manchester office of a Group A accountancy firm having originally tax trained in a Big 4 firm. He has over 15 years experience of building tax teams and tax departments and of recruiting tax specialists as an employer. He was formerly the Chairman of the Manchester branch of the Chartered Institute of Taxation, an office he held for three years. Mike specialises in recruiting Partners and Directors, and since he established the business in 2003, he has recruited numerous candidates for clients from Big 4 to local firms. Mike is both an F.C.A. and a C.T.A and his background as a tax partner gives him a unique understanding of high level tax recruitment from both candidates’ and clients’ perspectives.

Joanna Longman
Joanna, who founded the business with husband Mike, is a VAT specialist and was formerly Regional Head of VAT at one of the Big 4 firms before becoming VAT Director of a large local practice in the North West. Whilst she was in the profession she was an active member of the VAT Practitioners Group. As well as using her specialist knowledge of the VAT market to help advise Indirect Tax candidates Joanna also focuses on marketing issues and business strategy.

Louise Gibson
Louise Gibson, a tax recruitment specialist who joined Longman Tax Recruitment at the beginning of 2006, deals with candidates from Tax Assistants to Senior Managers and recruits for clients right across the North of England. Louise, who is an Associate Director of the company, has worked in recruitment for ten years, and prior to joining us had several years' tax recruitment experience working in a large national agency (latterly handling all their professional tax recruitment in Manchester). Louise gives candidates a highly personalised service and offers clear concise career advice which is reflected in the high level of referrals she receives from former candidates.
