Newly Qualified

The career decisions you make as a newly qualified (be it ATT, CTA or with an accountancy qualification) are probably amongst the most important you will ever make.

In normal economic conditions you will have more options open to you at this stage of your career than at any other point, and if you choose to look for a new role will probably get the chance to have a large number of interviews with organisations of different sizes and in different disciplines.

Clearly the current tax recruitment market has suffered due to the global economic slowdown and newly qualifieds in 2009 will not be in this position as many firms have scaled back their recruitment needs. However this is still a key time in your career and a good time to think about your longer term career development. Visit our news section to see our latest advice to newly qualifieds.

When the market picks up and newly qualifieds again become highly sought after the choices can be bewildering and often made worse by being bombarded by unwanted calls and pressure from aggressive recruitment agencies that target newly qualifieds and students.
